Service Description
Course Overview This half-day training module is specifically designed for operatives engaged in mobile and short-duration works (up to 1 hour) on both rural and urban roads. ⸻ Who Should Attend This course is ideal for individuals undertaking mobile or short-duration tasks, including: • Pothole repairs • Leak detection and fault finding • Tree cutting or felling • Installation of traffic loops • Coring and road sweeping • Grass cutting, hedge trimming, and weed spraying • Street lighting maintenance • Pole testing and road markings • Compliance testing • Jetting or velocity patching • Gulley emptying • Litter picking • Sewer jetting ⸻ Entry Requirements Learners must have successfully completed the LANTRA Temporary Traffic Management Basic Course (TTMBC) before attending this module. Additionally, learners must pass the M1 assessment prior to progressing to the T2 training module. ⸻ Course Aim To provide participants with the technical knowledge and practical understanding required to safely and effectively implement traffic management procedures for mobile and short-duration works. ⸻ Learning Objectives Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will: • Understand the role of sector schemes in traffic management • Be familiar with health and safety legislation and practices • Understand the purpose and structure of risk assessments and method statements • Recognise relevant codes of practice and industry documentation • Identify the appropriate equipment and vehicles used in temporary traffic management • Understand the specific requirements for mobile works • Be aware of considerations for non-motorised road users ⸻ Course Content • Quality assurance and sector scheme overview • Health & safety in the workplace • Risk assessments and method statements • Guidance from the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) • Industry codes of practice and documentation • Key highway and traffic management terminology • Overview of relevant work types and environments • Equipment and vehicle requirements • Traffic lane widths and movement considerations • Principles of moving and minor works • End-of-course multiple choice knowledge test ⸻ Certification & Assessment To achieve Moving Works Operative (MWO) status under Award M1, learners must successfully complete the training and pass a multiple-choice test at the end of the course with a minimum pass mark of 75%.
